Claverton Country House Hotel is a private party and function venue set within three acres of gardens in the East Sussex countryside, just outside Battle and within easy reach of Hastings.
From milestone birthdays and anniversaries to engagement parties, baby showers and family celebrations, our dedicated function suite gives you your own space to celebrate, with the convenience of a hotel, bar, catering and guest accommodation all in one place.
Your own private function space
Our 1,400 sq ft function suite can accommodate approximately 100 guests seated or around 200 for a less formal standing reception or evening party.
The suite has its own private bar, dance floor and direct access onto a large 1,200 sq ft decked terrace. Beyond the terrace is an approximately 5,000 sq ft private beer garden, giving your guests plenty of space to move between indoors and outside during the warmer months.
The room can be arranged to suit the occasion, whether you are planning a relaxed birthday party, an afternoon celebration, a formal dinner or an evening with music and dancing.
Food to suit the occasion
We offer a range of catering options so that you can make your celebration as relaxed or as formal as you wish.
Choose from classic and premium buffets, afternoon tea, BBQ menus, three-course dining and our popular pizza option for a more informal evening.
We are also happy to discuss individual requirements and adapt menus where possible, including vegetarian and other dietary requirements.

Stay the night
One of the advantages of holding your party at a country house hotel is that nobody necessarily needs to rush home at the end of the evening.
Claverton has 11 individually styled guest bedrooms, including king and super king rooms, smaller doubles and a family room sleeping up to four.
Bedrooms are subject to availability and can be reserved alongside your function, making Claverton particularly convenient when friends and family are travelling from further afield.
A countryside venue close to Battle and Hastings
Claverton offers the atmosphere of a countryside venue without being miles away from your guests.
We’re situated near Battle in East Sussex and are easily accessible from Hastings, Bexhill, St Leonards and the surrounding 1066 area.
Our three acres of grounds provide an attractive backdrop for photographs and give summer parties the opportunity to make full use of the gardens, terrace and outdoor areas.
