Get married at Claverton
Claverton is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies, allowing you to hold your ceremony and reception in the same location.
For an outdoor ceremony, our gazebo sits over the koi pond within the gardens and provides a beautiful setting for exchanging your vows.
Indoor ceremony options mean that there is always an alternative should the East Sussex weather decide not to cooperate.
Having everything in one location also means that once your guests arrive, they can relax and enjoy the day without travelling between the ceremony, reception and evening celebration.
Three acres of gardens
The gardens are an important part of weddings at Claverton.
They provide plenty of opportunities for photographs and, when the weather allows, enable much of the wedding day to take place outside.
Welcome drinks can be enjoyed in the gardens, guests can move between the function suite, terrace and grounds throughout the afternoon, and there is plenty of space to create a relaxed country-house atmosphere.
Your wedding reception
Our dedicated 1,400 sq ft function suite provides the main reception and evening space.
It can accommodate approximately 100 guests for a seated wedding reception and around 200 for an evening celebration.
The suite has its own private bar and dance floor, together with direct access to a large 1,200 sq ft decked terrace and approximately 5,000 sq ft private beer garden.
This gives you the flexibility to move naturally from the wedding breakfast into the evening celebrations without having to relocate your guests.
Food your way
Not every couple wants the same style of wedding breakfast, so we offer a variety of catering choices.
Depending on the style of your day, options can include three-course dining, BBQs, buffets and more informal food.
Our outdoor BBQs work particularly well for summer garden weddings, while our pizza option can provide a relaxed way of feeding guests later in the evening.
We can also discuss welcome drinks, wines and other drinks arrangements as part of planning your day.
Stay at Claverton
Claverton has 11 individually styled guest bedrooms, allowing the wedding couple and a number of close family and friends to stay at the venue.
Having accommodation on site makes the end of the evening considerably easier and also allows the celebrations to continue over breakfast the following morning.
Our bedrooms include king and super king rooms, smaller doubles and a ground-floor family room sleeping up to four.
